Francois Ozon's World War One Drama Frantz Get's An English Subtitled Trailer

It wouldn't be a film festival season without an Francois Ozon film and the upcoming Venice film festival this month and Toronto Film Festival will showcase Ozon's next film. World War 1 Drama Frantz will be that film and today we get a chance to watch the new trailer  which  has English subtitles, check it out...

Shortly after the World War One, in a small German village, Anna goes to her fiancé’s grave every day, to reflect and pay her respects to her love, who was killed in France. One day, Adrien, a mysterious young Frenchman, also comes to lay flowers on the grave.

Calling Ozon provocative would be an understatement especially if you judge him on his recent films. Misjudged erotic drama (Jeune&Jolie), Dark comedy mystery (In The House) to Trangender melodrama (The New Girlfriend). Ozon not scared to mix things up  and Frantz is a perfect example setting the movie in black&white  with a sense of mystery on who this mysterious man may be. A unknown brother to Anna's fiance? Maybe even her fiance's lover?

No word on when Frantz will be released in UK&Ireland and who will distribute it too. The film will receive an September (7th) release in France and possibly after the next festivals we may get an better idea. The film stars Paula Beer, Pierre Niney, Marie Gruber, Ernst Stötzner, Johann Von Bülow, and Anton Von Lucke.
