Share The End Of The World With Willem Dafoe in Abel Ferrara's 4:44 THE LAST DAY ON EARTH

If you believe on astrological/Mayan prophecies you'll know the world is going to end on December 21st but in Abel Ferrara's latest film we know it will be 4:44am and we can share that day with Willem Dafoe. 4:44 THE LAST DAY ON EARTH, Willem Dafoe and Shanyn Leigh play a New York couple and follow them not on a quest to escape the apocalypse but following them on that path of acceptance the world is going to end at 4:44am, following them from night before we're wiped from existence. It looks heavy viewing due the gloomy deep film but at the same time an intriguing that should be worth a viewing despite the very mixed reviews the film has received so far.

In a large apartment high above the city lives our couple. They’re in love. She’s a painter, he’s a successful actor. Just a normal afternoon – except that this isn’t a normal afternoon, for them or anyone else. Because tomorrow, at 4:44 am, give or take a few seconds, the world will come to an end far more rapidly than even the worst doomsayer could have imagined. The final meltdown will come not without warnings, but with no means of escape. There will be no survivors. As always, there are those who, as their last cigarette is being lit and the blindfold tightened, will still hope against hope for some kind of reprieve. For a miracle. Not our two lovers. They – like the majority of the Earth’s population – have accepted their fate: the world is going to end.

No word on this been released in UK&Ireland however IFC Films are releasing this Stateside limited cinema and VOD on March 23rd.
